THE SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE INTERNATIONAL MARATHON CONFIRMS ITS PARTNERSHIP WITH NAVIERA ARMAS

23/02/2024

Five editions taking steps together. This Friday morning, 27 October 2023, the sponsorship agreement was formalised between the Santa Cruz de Tenerife International Marathon and Naviera Armas Transmediterránea, which, for yet another year, will include 'naming' the main race and, therefore, the event itself. As a new addition and to strengthen the group’s commitment to the biggest sporting event on the Canary Islands, participants and their companions will get 50% off their ferry tickets from 6 to 19 November. Information about registration and the discount, available from Monday the 30th, is available at www.maratondetenerife.com.

The group has been sponsoring the event for over five years now. The agreement was signed at the Naviera Armas Transmediterránea headquarters, attended by the Naviera Armas Transmediterránea area manager in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Agustín Guerra, and the promoter of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife International Marathon, Odón Navarro. Both agreed on the importance of continuing to link sport, leisure and healthy lifestyle habits to the Naviera Armas brand and to the island.

In addition, the race, which will remain open for registration until 5 November and will be held a week later (Sunday the 12th), has entered into an agreement with Naviera Armas to offer 50% off ferry tickets for its outside participants, both for them and their companions. Tickets to Tenerife (from any port of origin) from the 6th to the 12th, with return from the 12th to the 19th of November, will be subject to this great offer, which allows you to enjoy the island for two weeks.

Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea is the leading shipping group in Spain and one of the top groups in Europe in the maritime transport of passengers and ro-ro cargo. It transports over five million passengers every year, has a fleet of 24 ships that connect the ports of three countries and operates 24 passenger and cargo routes between each of the Canary Islands, from the Canary Islands to the Peninsula and the Gibraltar Strait.

For the Naviera Armas Transmediterránea area manager in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Agustín Guerra, signing this agreement for the fifth year in a row was a ‘proud moment’, putting the group’s name to an event that is so ‘transformative and significant’ for the shipping line. ‘We have been supporting this

internationally renowned race for five years now. We support sports and, of course, how it helps to increase visibility of the island’, says Guerra.

For his part, the promoter of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife International Marathon, Odón Navarro, expressed his ‘pride’ in being able to continue working hand in hand with Naviera Armas. ‘It’s a privilege to offer our competitors a 50% discount and something historic that has never been seen before. We hope to have the shipping line as the name of the race for another five years to come, at least. We would like to take this opportunity to encourage the public to register and to encourage people from the mainland and, above all, from the archipelago, to take advantage of this significant discount to come to Tenerife’, concludes Navarro.
